To protect remaining cloud forests from further deforestation, local communities are challenged to find alternative, sustainable sources of income.  Community-based ecotourism and renewable crafts, as practiced by the  COLIBRIS WOMEN´S COOPERATIVE in Marianitas, Ecuador, are among these alternatives.
