Q Where is the Nanegal/Marianitas/Santa Lucía area and how will I get there?
A The area is located about 80 km northwest of Quito. The Colibrís women´s cooperative is located in Marianitas, which can be reached via a 2 hour bus ride from Quito. Detailed instructions on transportation options and bus schedules, please contact us at: administrator@santa-lucia.org

Q What should I bring?
A Some suggested items are:
Rain poncho
Knee-high rubber boots
Hiking Boots
Sandals/slippers (for around the house)
Lots of changes of socks
At least one pair of quick-drying pants (light cotton, not jeans)
Cap with visor
Swimsuit
Polar fleece or similar jacket or sweatshirt
Flashlight
Binoculars
Water bottle
Towel and wash cloth
Sunscreen
Insect repellent
Immodium, aspirin
Athlete's foot cream

Q I would like to volunteer, but I don't speak much Spanish, is that a problem?
A A basic knowledge of Spanish would be helpful, but it's not a requirement. Some of the locals speak and understand basic English.
